Here’s a look at the new features and improvements we’ve launched this month, translated from our technical notes into plain English.
Introducing the /sleep Command
You can now track and review your sleep patterns directly with our new Sleep Tracker. Use the /sleep command to see your aggregated sleep statistics and filter your history by date.
Bot Updates and Retirements
To streamline our service and focus on new features, we are retiring several bots and updating how deprecated bots are shown.
- Now Deprecated: The BIPOLAR, GROK-IMAGE, and RAGEBAIT-GROK bots are now retired. The SHIGGER_CLANKER bot has also been added to the deprecated list.
- New Status Icons: Deprecated bots will display an “Idle” (yellow) status icon in Discord so users can quickly see their state.
Smarter Conversations
Our bots are now more aware of local context. They know the current date and time (PST) and have improved understanding of the Greater Vancouver area. We’ve also added dual-currency formatting, so when a price is mentioned the bot can show the CAD value with a helpful USD approximation (for example, $10 CAD (approx. $7 USD)).
Under the Hood: A More Reliable Service
We’ve made significant upgrades to our backend to make the service more resilient. A new fallback system can automatically switch to a backup provider if the primary service has an issue. For you, that means fewer errors, faster responses, and higher reliability when you make a request.
Availability
The new experience begins rolling out in beta today. Sleep insights and the streamlined design will be available to select ShortGemini users.
